This is a site I put together to sell or barter my personally owned stuff that I no longer have much of a need for. I’ll sell for cash or stuff that I either need — or more interests me.

I once had room for collector cars, race cars, a motorcycle collection, and other things that interested me. More recently, four of our five kids have left the nest, I’ve retired from business, and we are down sizing our lives to become less complicated.

Most of the stuff I’ve listed under the “My Stuff” link on the NavBar is of high quality. I don’t have much of anything considered junk, and wouldn’t take the time to list it if I did. I try to fairly describe what I have, and try to include a lot of photos. What is listed so far only scratches the surface of what I have, which I could part with. I’m not desperate for cash, so this is not a fire sale where I’m virtually giving it away. I like all of it — but not emotionally attached to any of it. While I’d prefer to sell for cash, I’d consider a fair barter for some of the stuff that I have listed having an interest in the “Your Stuff” link on the NavBar. If you feel like you have what I am looking for, and I have what you’re looking for — you can Propose a Barter. I ask two things:

Be realistic. I’m not a stupid man, and I dislike being insulted just as much as you would. I feel like I have a good idea of the value of what I want — and will speak with experts if I’m even a little unsure.

Please give full details of what it is that you want to barter with. While I can make a quick decision, I can’t make any decision without a reasonable amount of information of what I’m to barter for. I need facts like honest condition, make and model, and detailed photos. Most likely, just like you, when I’m given sketchy information I have that little voice telling me that there is most likely is deception involved — and I stay away. Tell me everything about the item that you would expect me to tell you, on the first contact.

The list of things I’m looking for certainly isn’t all-inclusive — so if you feel like you have something I’m interested in — I’ll listen.

I live 30 miles WSW of Houston, Texas — and you are encouraged to come inspect the item you are interested in. However, I do drag race on a National Circuit and and am often gone for a week at a time. That means that I’m often very hard to reach by phone, it might take a day or two for me to answer an email if I have sketchy Internet connections at the track, and that we will need to set up an appointment for you to inspect the item.

Contact me if you have any questions, but not to spam me.

Regards,

Dave Schultz

Details:

I bought this quite a few years ago from a sponsored racer for $600 when I bought his 540 Indy engine. He’d just had Dynamic freshen it up, and hadn’t yet reinstalled in his car. I ran it in my 65 Dodge Coronet for about 50 passes, then I converted the car to run Nostalgia Super Stock (footbrake) — and pulled the converter in favor of a PTC Footbrake converter.

It was built for a 3100 pound Mopar running 32″X14″x15″ slicks, 4.54 gears, and transbrake. I got my best times (9.2s) launching at 3800, shifting at 6800, and going through the traps at 7100 with a 3170 Coronet.

I can’t tell you anything else about the convertor than the above — except that I loved it for a transbrake. These converters are not cheap new — so jump on this for less than half price.

This race engine was built by Damon Kuhn at Diamondback Engines, with the same recipe (with Indy 440-1 heads, Edelbrock STR 15 Intake, and pair of AFB carbs) that had his 61 Plymouth (Fugly) run 9.2s @ 138. This motor contains:

Seasoned 400 block that was precision machined – cylinders are .030

NEW Callies forged Crank

NEW Eagle H-Beam Rods

NEW Ross Pistons

NEW Lunati Roller Cam

NEW Mildon External Oil Pump

NEW Milodon Oil Pan

NEW SFI Balancer

NEW Timing Set

This engine was originally built to go into a Nostalgia Super Stock Car. It had New CNC 440-1 Indy heads and a Indy NSS intake and was run in a test stand.

However, I decided to replace the 572-13 heads on my race car (The Texas Whale) with the smaller 440-1 heads that were on this engine — and so the engine is is now being sold without heads or induction. Ready for your Indy, Victor, or B1 Heads.

The parts are all top shelf and I have far more money in this new motor than I am selling it for.

SHIPPING: The engine is wrapped and in a clean climate controlled room. I don’t have the ability to properly crate and ship. The buyer can pick up (or arrange to have picked up) at my shop in Richmond, Texas, I will deliver to any of the races I attend (see www.texaswhaleracing.com for schedule), or for $75 (about 35 miles away) — a hot shot can take it to Heights Crating for shipment virtually anywhere in the world. I’ve had customers ship motors, sheet metal and motorcycles too England, Sweden, and as far away as Russia — without issues. They accept credit cards and Interbank Wire Transfers.

This was a 750 CFM 4150 Alky carb that we built for a customer who was to be racing in a class requiring a fairly stock carb that could be modified for Alcohol. This carb utilizes all of the specialty alky parts in its construction. It is a $1000 carburetor that the customer boned us on, and so it is offered on eBay Dirt Cheap.

That straight shot produces a potent power build from 2,500 to 6,500 rpm.
